Meet Alison

Hi, Alison here. Welcome. My background is admittedly diverse and eclectic, but has contributed significantly to my being here, now. I thought you would enjoy some insight into it. It will certainly help put People are Staring into context.

I thought I would start by answering one of the most often asked questions and move on to others as they come up.

So what is the most often asked question, you say. Easy, that would be,

"How does a economist and university lecturer start a business about sexuality?"

Yes, really, I have a M.A in economics and have worked as a consultant, lecturer and civil servant. And how is that relevant, you ask. Well, the short version is, I used my economics background, applied it to a favourite subject and analysed the market. I found a niche. Actually a huge gap, between what I call the hollywoodization and pornification of sex, and the practical advice of sexual health practitioners. I recognized the potential of the sensual side of sex and sexuality.

After a lot of thought on my part and some gentle persuasion by my friends, I realized how I could contribute to that market. Thus began People are Staring.
