I am an Economist in my education, profession and philosophy. Alison Coffin Consulting arose from my love of the subject and a desire to apply it differently. A Masters degree, twelve years in the public service, fifteen teaching at a university and most recently five as a budding entrepreneur has given me a unique perspective. My enjoyment of economics is evident to anyone who has watched me eagerly review a government budget, cheerily deliver a lecture or excitedly help a fellow entrepreneur write a business plan.

I have fed thousands. I do it naturally, easily and happily and it is always very good. I’ve joked for years that there should be a revolving door at my house for the number of people that come and go. Big Al’s Heavy Metal Soup Kitchen became a reality when I caught myself grinning and skipping through the grocery store as I prepared to barbeque for 200. The Kitchen started as a small catering company. Realizing I can’t feed everyone, it has grown into an online cooking show with menus, recipes, playlists and special guests talking about the things they love.
